Privacy Policy

This website asks for personal information in two places only: when you request a video consultation, and when you send a question to one of our doctors. What is listed below is everything we ask for.

Awaiting clinic confirmationTwo items are still blank

The name and title of the clinic's data protection officer, and the clinic's medical institution licence number, identify a real person and a real company — there is no customary value to fall back on. Inventing a plausible name or number would be worse than leaving the gap, so we leave it until it is confirmed. In the meantime, requests to see or delete your data do reach us through the channel described under "Your rights" below, and are handled by the same procedure.

What we collect

The list below is everything this website asks for. If an item is not on it, we do not collect it.

Video consultation request — required

Without these six we cannot schedule a consultation for you.

Full name
Identifies your booking and is how the doctor addresses you during the consultation.
Nationality
Lets us arrange the right interpreter and contact method in advance. If your country is not on the list you can type it in yourself, and it reaches the clinic exactly as you wrote it.
Date of birth
Confirms the age of the person being seen. This form does not accept requests from anyone under 14.
Messenger type
You choose where we reply. Depending on the language you are reading, the options are WhatsApp, LINE and KakaoTalk.
Messenger contact
WhatsApp takes a country code and phone number; LINE and KakaoTalk take the ID for that service. Whatever you typed into the option you did not choose is never sent.
First and second preferred times
Your consultation is scheduled against Korea Standard Time (KST).

Video consultation request — optional

Your request goes through whether or not you fill these in.

Procedures of interest
Tells the doctor what you already have in mind before the call starts.
Preferred doctor
You may name a specific doctor. The default is no preference.
Anything else you want to add
Up to 2,000 characters.
Up to 3 photos
Used only to let the doctor look at your case before the call. JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC are accepted, up to 8 MB per photo. They are sent to the staff mailbox as attachments so the doctor can look at them before the call, and we keep no copy outside that mailbox.

Ask the Doctor question

Name
The name shown alongside your question.
Email address
Used only to send our answer to you.
Your question
Up to 2,000 characters.
Procedure category
Routes your question to the doctor who handles it.
Public or private
Only questions marked public appear on the Q&A page. Private questions are answered to you directly.

Collected automatically

Information that reaches us with your request without you typing it.

IP address
Used solely to judge whether the same source is submitting repeatedly, on the video consultation form and the Ask a Doctor form alike. It is held in server memory only for as long as that check needs and is then discarded; it is never written to the Google spreadsheet, the staff mailbox or our server logs.
Display language
Sent along so that we reply in the language you were reading.
Browser time zone
Used to show your preferred times in Korea time and your local time side by side.

We use what you give us for the purposes described above and nothing else. If we ever want to send you marketing, we will ask you separately at that point.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the personal information collected through this website — the video consultation request page and the Ask the Doctor page. Medical records created after you visit the clinic are held separately under Korean medical law.

How long it is kept

Video consultation requests are kept for up to three years from the date received, and Ask the Doctor questions for up to three years from the date they are answered, after which they are destroyed. Three years is the period over which we may still need to check how a consultation came about or how an enquiry was handled. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we destroy it without delay regardless of that period. Medical records created after you visit the clinic are not covered here — they are retained for the period Korean medical law requires.

How information is destroyed

Once the retention period has passed or the purpose has been met, we destroy the information without delay. Anything held electronically is deleted by a method that makes it unrecoverable; anything printed on paper is shredded or incinerated. If some part of it has to be kept longer under another law, only that part is stored apart from the rest and destroyed the same way once its period ends.

Sharing with others

We do not give what this website collects to third parties. We do not sell it and we do not pass it on for advertising. The outside services listed under "Processing on our behalf" below only carry out a defined task for the clinic, which is not the same as sharing your data with a third party. Where a law enforcement authority makes a lawful request, we may disclose information to the extent that request requires.

Processing on our behalf

Two companies carry out work for us, limited to what running this website requires. Vercel Inc. hosts the website and handles the form submissions. Google LLC records each video consultation request and each Ask a Doctor question in a Google spreadsheet kept for clinic staff and sends the same details to the staff mailbox over Gmail. Nothing else is outsourced, and each company receives only the items its task requires. If this list changes, this page is updated first.

Transfers outside Korea

Both companies above are headquartered in the United States, and your request is stored on or passes through servers they operate outside Korea, including in the United States. What is transferred is everything you entered on the consultation form — name, nationality, date of birth, contact details, preferred times, procedures of interest, your message and any photos you attached. An Ask a Doctor question travels the same route, and what is transferred is your name, email address, question, procedure category and whether you marked it public or private. The purpose is the work described under "Processing on our behalf", and the retention period is the one stated above. If you would rather your details did not leave Korea this way, you can arrange a consultation by contacting the clinic directly on its official messenger channel instead of using the consultation form, and you can put a question to a doctor through that same channel instead of using the Ask a Doctor form.

Your rights

You may exercise the rights below at any time. Exercising them will never count against you.

  • Ask to see the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete it
  • Ask us to stop processing it
  • Withdraw a consent you have already given

Send your request to the coordinator on whichever messenger you chose when you made your request, or to the clinic's official messenger channel, which opens from the contact button on this site. Once we have confirmed your identity, we act on it and tell you the outcome within 10 days of receiving it. A dedicated contact point for data protection matters alone will be listed here as soon as the officer named under "Data protection officer" below is appointed.

If you are outside Korea

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or anywhere else outside Korea, you have the same rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and withdrawal of consent set out above. The basis on which we hold your information is the consent you give when you submit the form; you may withdraw it at any time, and we stop processing from that point. Your information is transferred to Korea, where the clinic is, and to the servers of the processors named above. Because the clinic and the treatment itself are both in Korea, we do not maintain a separate representative within the European Union.

Children under 14

The video consultation form on this website does not accept requests from anyone under 14. If you are under 19, we will ask that a guardian accompanies you to the consultation and to treatment.

Cookies and tracking

If we ever add advertising or analytics cookies, or any tracking script, we will say so on this page before we do.

How your information is protected

All traffic on this website is encrypted over HTTPS, and repeated submissions from the same source in a short window are automatically limited. Our server logs never record values that identify one person — name, date of birth, contact details — a request is traced by its reference number instead. The spreadsheet and mailbox where requests are recorded are restricted to clinic staff, and the credentials used to reach outside services live in server environment variables rather than in the code. When a member of staff changes role, their access is withdrawn straight away.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post what changed and the date it takes effect on this page.

Data protection officer

Awaiting clinic confirmationThe officer's name, title and direct contact details will be published here as soon as the clinic appoints them. They identify a real person, so we do not write them down before they are confirmed. Until then, any question or request about your data can go to the channel described under "Your rights" above; it reaches clinic staff and is handled by the same procedure.

Clinic registration details

Awaiting clinic confirmationThe clinic is VERYGOOD Plastic Surgery Clinic, Seoul, at 635 Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea. Its representative is Im Young Min (임영민) and its business registration number is 326-46-00308. Its medical institution licence number will be stated here once the clinic confirms it. Registration numbers written down wrongly are worse than a gap, so we do not write them before they are confirmed.
