Liposuction is not a weight-loss operation. It reduces the number of fat cells in areas that diet and training do not reach, and the result only looks smooth when skin elasticity and the fat layer left behind are planned together.

HONEST FIRST
Who this suits — and who it does not
Hiding the cases we turn away in a footnote is not honesty, it is a disclaimer. If the right-hand column describes you, we will say so in the consultation.
This usually helps if
The conditions we most often confirm during consultation.
- Your weight is in a normal range but localised fat remains on the abdomen, thighs or armsSee 15 cases with this concern
- Your abdominal line has not returned after pregnancy
- You want to even out contour irregularities or a left-right difference
- You can wear the compression garment and keep to a two-week recovery
We do not recommend surgery if
Cases where we postpone surgery or suggest another route first.
- Weight loss is the goal — with severe obesity we advise losing weight first, then consulting
- Skin elasticity is significantly reduced and suction alone would leave sagging — we discuss excision or a lift alongside
- You cannot keep to the compression garment and the two-week recovery
- An uncontrolled cardiovascular or clotting disorder

TECHNIQUES
Body contouring is not one operation
Several different techniques sit under the name Body contouring. Which one applies depends on what the examination finds, and each carries its own recovery. Below are the operations we actually perform in this category.
Stay in Korea
5–7 days
Arm liposuction
Fat on the upper arm is removed through two small entry points. Recovery is the shortest in body contouring — but loose skin does not tighten from liposuction alone, and we will say so if that is the real issue.
Back to daily life5–7 days

7–10 days
Abdominal liposuction
Deep and superficial fat over the abdomen and flanks is removed to change the outline. This is contouring, not weight loss, and the shape reveals itself as swelling settles over several weeks.
Back to daily life7–10 days
Thigh liposuction
Inner and outer thigh are contoured together so the leg keeps one continuous line. Wearing the compression garment matters more here than anywhere else in body contouring.
Back to daily life7–10 days
RECOVERY
How many days off, and when to fly
The number international patients need before anything else. From the day swelling peaks to the final result — nothing left out.
Recommended stay in Korea
10–14days
Enough time to have your stitches removed and your first follow-up before you fly home.
