Mini Facelift Korea Price: Why Do Two Quotes Differ? Reviews, Methods and Recovery
A mini facelift Korea price moves with how deep the lift goes, whether the neck is included, the anesthesia and your days in Seoul. The word “mini” alone tells you little about the figure.

The short answer
Holding a mini facelift Korea price that looks nothing like the one a friend was quoted, and worried the number will change once you land in Seoul? Most of the gap comes from what sits under the word “mini”: how deep the lift goes, whether the neck is included, the anesthesia and how many days you stay. You can pin most of that down before you book a flight.
- “Mini” names a shorter incision, not a fixed amount of work or a fixed cost.
- The layer lifted, the reach into the neck, the anesthesia and your days in Seoul move the figure most.
- Foreigners are charged the same surgical fee as Korean patients, with a written estimate.
- A loose band under the chin often means a mini lift is the wrong size of operation.
- Before you leave Seoul, take copies of your surgery records home with you.

You'll know what moves the cost, which methods hide behind the “mini” label, what reviews get right and wrong, and what recovery means for your flight home, so you can tell whether the operation you were quoted fits your face and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Im Young Min, Chief Director and board-certified plastic surgeon at VG Plastic Surgery in Gangnam, Seoul.
We have eight full-time specialists across plastic surgery, ENT and anesthesiology, with anesthesiologists on staff who don't operate. Foreigners are charged the same surgical fee as Korean patients, and the estimate is given in writing.
I wrote this because many people choose “mini” assuming it's the smaller bill, then learn that their neck needed a different lift.
A figure worth trusting is tied to which layer of your face has dropped, and the label alone can't tell you that.
Send a face photo on WhatsApp
If you already have a quote, send a front and a side photo of your face in daylight on WhatsApp, with a line on what that quote says is included, and ask one question: does this plan cover my neck? That question is where most mini quotes split apart.
Why does a mini facelift cost differ so much between quotes?
“Mini” describes the length of the incision more than the work under it. One mini lift tightens skin and a strip of the SMAS, the firm layer under the skin that carries the jowls. Another reaches further forward or adds work under the chin. Same name, different operation, different time in theater.
Think of a builder quoting “a small kitchen job.” Two builders can mean a new countertop or new plumbing behind the wall. The words match; the hours don't.
Before I decide the direction of the pull, I look at which layer has actually dropped. If the skin has loosened but the deeper layer has held, a short lift can be enough. If the deeper layer has slid and taken the neck with it, a mini lift can leave a neat jawline sitting above a neck that still sags.
What decides the mini facelift Korea price for your face
Five things move the figure, and you can ask about each one before you travel.
- The layer being lifted. Skin-only tightening takes less time than a lift that repositions the SMAS. More operating time means more surgical, nursing and theater time in the estimate.
- How far the lift reaches. Jowls alone are one plan. Jowls plus the upper neck is another. A mini lift combined with upper eyelid surgery, or with fat grafting to hollow cheeks, is a third, with a third figure.
- Anesthesia. In general, mini lifts are done either under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia, chosen by the extent of the work and your health. Ask which type your plan assumes, because its length shows up in the estimate.
- Your days in Seoul. The clinic fee is one line. Hotel nights, meals and transport around stitch removal and check visits come out of your own budget, and they grow with every day the plan needs.
- Follow-up once you're home. Ask what's included after you leave, and plan who you'd see at home if something needs looking at in week two.
Ask for the estimate line by line, so you can see which of these five it covers before you compare any mini facelift Korea price against another. To get the figure for your own case, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your face, and mention whether you'd want your neck or eyelids done on the same trip.
Which methods sit behind the “mini” label, and which do you need?
Our facelift menu lists three lifts: Crystal, SMAS and mini. Which one fits starts with where the descent is, before any talk of budget.
As general practice, a mini facelift uses a shorter incision around the ear and suits faces where the main change is at the jowls and jawline. A SMAS facelift repositions that deeper layer over a wider area, and it tends to come up when the neck and lower face have both dropped. I've covered who a mini facelift suits and where its incision goes separately, along with how SMAS, mini and Crystal lifts differ over two weeks in Seoul.
“Deep plane mini facelift” turns up in searches too. Deep plane describes the layer where a surgeon releases tissue, and it isn't a name on our menu. If that's the term on your quote, why the layer matters more than the name explains what to ask.
“Mini V-line surgery” is a different operation altogether. It reshapes the jaw and chin bone, which belongs to facial contouring. A lift moves soft tissue, so if your lower face looks wide because of bone, a lift won't change that.
Say you have jowls, a soft neck and ten days of leave
Say you're 54. Your jowls sit just below the jawline, and when you look down, a loose band shows under your chin. A surgeon at home suggested a full facelift. You'd rather do a mini lift in Seoul because it sounds shorter and lighter on the budget, and you have ten days of leave.
Here's how I'd reason. The jowls alone would fit a mini lift. The neck band says the deeper layer has moved below the jaw, and a short incision around the ear often can't reach it well. So the question for your trip isn't “how much is a mini?” but “is a mini the right operation?” If it isn't, the smaller quote pays for a lift that leaves half the problem behind.
Send a face photo on WhatsApp
If this sounds like your face, send your travel dates and the number of days off you have on WhatsApp, and ask whether your neck changes the plan. Knowing your leave up front stops you comparing a mini quote against a trip that couldn't hold the bigger lift.
What do mini facelift reviews get right, and what do they miss?
Reddit threads and forums about a mini facelift in Seoul repeat a handful of claims. Some hold up medically; some don't.
- “The swelling lasted longer than I expected.” True for many people. Tightness around the jaw and ears often outlasts the bruising, and the final settling is slow.
- “Mini means no visible scar.” Not accurate. Every lift leaves an incision line, usually placed around the ear, and how it heals varies with your skin and with smoking.
- “My quote went up at the consultation.” This happens when the first figure was for a label and the exam found more to do. It's the reason to ask about your neck before you fly.
- “A mini lift lasts as long as a full one.” Not necessarily. A mini lift treats less tissue, and the areas it didn't reach keep aging on their own schedule. No lift stops aging.
Photos posted in threads tell you little about your own face. Lighting, camera angle and time since surgery all change what you see.
How long is recovery, and what does it mean for your flight?
For many people, bruising and the most visible swelling ease over the first couple of weeks, while tightness and numbness near the ears can last longer. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons describes a bandage and sometimes a thin drainage tube right after a facelift, with swelling and bruising that settle as healing goes on.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes in its medical tourism guidance that flying soon after surgery adds to the risk of blood clots. I wouldn't set your days from a label. Ask at booking how many days your plan needs, and leave a spare day before your flight. I've written more on swelling, stitches and the flight home after a facelift.
Who should wait, and what can go wrong after you fly home
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are temporary: swelling, bruising, a tight feeling along the jaw, numbness in the cheeks and around the ears, and some unevenness while the swelling settles. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons lists the less common risks of a facelift, including bleeding under the skin (hematoma), infection, poor wound healing, facial nerve injury with weakness, hair loss near the incisions, skin loss, unfavorable scarring and anesthesia risks.
As a general rule, some people should wait or rethink a lift: anyone who smokes or uses nicotine (it slows skin healing), anyone with high blood pressure that isn't controlled (it raises bleeding risk), anyone on blood thinners or supplements that affect clotting unless their own doctor adjusts them, anyone still losing a lot of weight, and anyone pregnant or breastfeeding.
If a reaction appears after you're home, act on it. One side of the face swelling quickly with pain needs same-day care, because that pattern can mean a hematoma. Fever, spreading redness or discharge from an incision needs a doctor within a day. New weakness in your smile or brow is often temporary but still needs checking. The CDC suggests taking copies of your medical records home, so ask for your surgery records before you leave Seoul and bring them to any doctor you see.
Who will you meet in Seoul?
You can read each surgeon's training on our English homepage before you send anything. My own background includes a Ph.D. in Medicine, board certification in plastic surgery at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, where I'm an adjunct professor of plastic surgery, and full membership of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
The clinic is at 635 Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu. It is registered by the Mayor of Seoul as a medical institution for attracting foreign patients, registration number M-2018-01-08-5276, valid until 2027.11.28, so you can check it yourself.
When you're ready, one front-facing photo on WhatsApp is enough to start, and you can ask your question before booking anything: is a mini lift the right size for my face? When you come to Seoul, I examine your face in person and recommend the lift that fits it, including telling you when a smaller one will do.

FAQ
Questions patients ask
Is a mini facelift Korea price usually all-in?
Ask for the written estimate line by line. It should show the surgery, the anesthesia and what follow-up is included. Flights, hotel nights and meals during your stay are separate costs you plan yourself.
Do foreigners pay more for a facelift at VG Plastic Surgery?
No. Foreigners are charged the same surgical fee as Korean patients, and the estimate is given in writing.
Is a thread lift a cheaper version of a mini facelift?
No. A thread lift is a non-surgical procedure, and it isn't on our menu. A mini facelift is surgery through an incision around the ear that repositions tissue, so the two aren't versions of each other.
Can I combine a mini facelift with eyelid surgery or fat grafting on one trip?
Combining them is common in general practice, but it lengthens the anesthesia, changes the estimate and can add days in Seoul. Mention what you'd like combined when you ask about cost.
Can I get a final figure before I fly to Seoul?
You can ask on WhatsApp what a lift would cost for your case. Which lift you need, and so the final figure, is confirmed once your face has been examined in person, since the neck and the deeper layer are hard to judge fully from photos.

Four Checkpoints Between an endotine forehead lift in Korea and Your Flight Home
For most people travelling from the US, the UK or Australia for an endotine forehead lift in Korea, the hard part is that flight: whether a taped forehead and swollen brows can sit through a long-haul cabin, and who looks at the scalp incisions once you've landed.
