Rhinoplasty Cost South Korea USD: Will the Quote Hold After the Exam? Reviews, Methods and Recovery
Rhinoplasty in South Korea has no single USD price. The figure follows your plan: tip or bridge work, where the cartilage comes from, septum repair, anaesthesia and how many days you spend in Seoul.

The short answer
Is the rhinoplasty cost South Korea USD figure you were quoted in a chat the one you'll actually pay after the exam in Seoul? It holds when the plan behind it holds: tip or bridge, which cartilage, whether the septum needs work, and how many days you stay. Read this before you book the flight.
- A dollar quote describes a plan, so two quotes for the same nose often price different operations.
- Tip work, bridge material, septum repair and revision are the parts that move the figure most.
- Thick skin limits how much definition a bulbous tip can gain, whatever the method.
- Hotel nights and leave days belong in your total, even when they aren't on the surgical estimate.
- Foreign patients at VG Plastic Surgery pay the same surgical fee as Korean patients, and the estimate is given in writing.
By the end you'll know what decides the cost for your nose, what review threads get right and wrong, which methods suit a bulbous tip or a low bridge, and what recovery means for your days in Seoul. That's enough to judge whether a dollar quote fits your nose and your budget.

Hello, I'm Dr. Im Young Min, Chief Director and board-certified plastic surgeon at VG Plastic Surgery in Gangnam, Seoul.
Here, rhinoplasty is reviewed with an ENT specialist who practises alongside the plastic surgeons, so your breathing and septum sit in the same plan as the shape. Three board-certified anesthesiologists work on staff, and one is dedicated to each operation. Foreign patients pay the same surgical fee as Korean patients, and the estimate is given in writing.
I wrote this because people often line up dollar figures before anyone has looked inside their nose, and those comparisons rarely survive the exam.
There is no single USD price for a Korean nose job. Your figure comes from the plan for your particular nose, and if the estimate is set in Korean won, the dollar amount also moves with the exchange rate between the day you're quoted and the day you pay.
Send a front and side photo on WhatsApp
If you'd like a starting point, send two daylight photos on WhatsApp, one from the front and one from the side, and ask one thing: what would it cost for my case, and what does that include?
Why the same nose can get two very different dollar quotes
A quote describes a plan, so two figures for the same face can be pricing two different operations. One may cover tip refinement only. Another may add a bridge implant, cartilage taken from the ear and a straightened septum. Until you know which structures are being changed, the two numbers aren't measuring the same thing.
The structure that surprises people most is the septum. It's the wall of cartilage and bone that divides the inside of your nose, and it's also the usual donor site for the cartilage that supports a reshaped tip. If it's bent, or one side of your nose blocks when you lie down, straightening it is functional surgery and belongs in the plan.
If your septum is small, or was used in an earlier operation, the cartilage has to come from the ear or the rib instead. That changes the length of the operation and what you feel afterwards. If you've already been told your own septum won't be enough, read about who suits rib cartilage rhinoplasty before you compare any figures.
Which rhinoplasty methods change the figure most?
For many people searching for Asian or Korean rhinoplasty, the request comes down to two things: a higher bridge and a tip that looks less round. These are separate jobs, and each one is priced as its own part of the operation.
Raising the bridge is done either with an implant or with your own tissue. A review of Asian rhinoplasty in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open describes both implants and the patient's own cartilage as established ways to build the bridge in Asian noses, each with its own complications to weigh. Using your own cartilage means a second site to harvest from, which adds operating time.
Refining a bulbous tip is a different operation. The tip's shape comes from small cartilages under the skin, and when the skin is thick it hides much of what's done underneath. That's why tip work often needs cartilage grafts for support, and why a round, thick-skinned tip usually can't be made as narrow as the photos people save from forums.
Work on a deviated septum or a narrow nasal valve adds steps, and here that part is assessed with the ENT specialist. If your nose already feels large and you're worried that reshaping it will affect how you breathe, the post on breathing after big-nose rhinoplasty covers that side in detail. Revision surgery adds the most unknowns, because scar tissue and a septum that has already been used have to be dealt with first.
Say you have a round tip, a low bridge and one blocked side
Say you're 30, your tip is round, your bridge is low, and your left side blocks at night. If you ask only for a tip price, the figure leaves out most of your nose. I'd want to know first whether the blockage comes from the septum, because that decides whether septal cartilage is available for the tip and whether the septum is straightened in the same operation.
Then the bridge: an implant or your own cartilage. Each answer moves the figure, and each one is a medical decision before it's a line on an estimate. A quote that skips these questions is a guess about your nose.
What decides the cost for your nose
Read your own rhinoplasty cost South Korea USD estimate against these factors. Each row is a question worth asking before you compare anything.
| What moves it | Why | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Tip, bridge or both | Each is a separate part of the operation | Which structures does this plan change? |
| Bridge material | Harvesting your own cartilage adds a donor site and time | Implant or my own cartilage, and from where? |
| Septum or airway work | Functional repair is added surgery | Is breathing work part of my plan? |
| First surgery or revision | Scar tissue and used cartilage lengthen the operation | Is this planned as a revision? |
| Anaesthesia | Operating-room time and the anaesthesia method go together | Is anaesthesia on the estimate? |
| Days in Seoul | Hotel nights and leave days are part of your total | How many days should I plan? |
Once you have the written estimate, check each line against this table. Your nationality isn't one of the rows. Hotel and flights won't be on a surgical estimate, so add them yourself, and if you're quoted in won, convert on the day you pay, not the day you ask.
For people budgeting in other currencies, the wider guide to what decides the cost of rhinoplasty in South Korea walks through the same factors. Before you send anything, the VG Plastic Surgery English site lists the nose centre and the surgeons who work in it, each under their own name, so you can check who they are.
To get a figure for your own case, add a third photo taken from below that shows your nostrils, and write one line on whether either side blocks. Then ask on WhatsApp whether septum work belongs in your plan and what the total would be.

What do rhinoplasty reviews get right, and what do they miss?
The first claim you'll read in review threads is “the swelling was gone in two weeks.” That's partly true. For many people the bruising and the obvious swelling settle within the first weeks, but the American Society of Plastic Surgeons notes it can take up to a year for the new shape to fully refine. Tip swelling, especially in thick skin, is the slowest to go.
The second is “Korean surgeons can make any nose sharp.” Skin thickness sets a limit on how much definition the tip can show, and the review of Asian rhinoplasty cited above treats the thick soft-tissue envelope as one of the central challenges. A method can't remove that limit; it can only work within it.
The third is “the online quote is the final price.” The quote reflects what photos show from the outside. How straight your septum is and how much cartilage it holds only become clear when you're examined, which is why whether surgery suits you, and the final plan, are confirmed at the in-person exam in Seoul.
Recovery and your days in Seoul
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a splint usually protects the nose for about the first week, and bruising around the eyes is common at first. Plan for a face you won't want to photograph for a while, and for stuffiness that makes sleep lighter than usual.
The number of days to stay follows the plan. A tip-only operation and a revision with rib cartilage are different weeks, so ask how many days to plan for your case before you buy tickets, and book the flight after the last checkup you're asked to attend. For timing around work, seasons and swelling, see when to book a natural rhinoplasty in Korea.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise anyone travelling for surgery to bring copies of their medical records home and to arrange follow-up care with a doctor there before leaving. For a nose, that means a local ENT or plastic surgeon you could see if something changes after you're home.
What can go wrong after a nose job in Korea?
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are temporary: swelling, bruising around the eyes, a blocked feeling and a numb tip, usually easing over the first weeks while fine swelling lasts longer. Less common problems listed by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons include bleeding, infection, poor wound healing, breathing difficulty, a hole in the septum, skin discoloration, and an appearance you're unhappy with that may need revision. Implants add their own risks, such as infection or shifting.
Some people should generally wait or reconsider: anyone whose face is still growing, anyone with an active sinus infection or a recent nose injury, people who are pregnant, and people taking blood thinners or living with a bleeding disorder. Smokers are usually asked to stop well before surgery, because smoking slows healing. The NHS also advises thinking carefully about your reasons and expectations before any cosmetic nose surgery.
If something appears after you fly home, such as spreading redness, fever, bleeding that won't stop or new trouble breathing, see a local doctor first and bring your operation notes. Then message the clinic on WhatsApp with photos and the date of your surgery. Healing speed differs from person to person, which is one more reason to keep a spare day or two in your plans.
When a smaller plan is the right one
Not every nose needs every part of the table above. Some people come wanting a full rhinoplasty when the bridge is fine and only the tip bothers them, and others need breathing work more than any change in shape. You can ask in your first message which parts of a plan are optional.
Your first message can be short: one daylight side photo, the month you hope to travel, and the question “what would rhinoplasty cost for my nose, and what's included?” You can ask before booking anything. When you come to Seoul, your nose is examined inside and out, with the ENT specialist involved where breathing is part of it, and the surgeon recommends the plan that fits your nose.

FAQ
Questions patients ask
Can I get a rhinoplasty cost South Korea USD figure from photos before I fly?
You can ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case with front, side and below-the-nose photos. Photos show the outside shape; how straight your septum is and how much cartilage it holds are checked when you're examined in person.
Does the estimate include anaesthesia and the checkups before my flight?
Ask that directly. One anesthesiologist is dedicated to each operation at VG Plastic Surgery; ask whether anaesthesia, medication and the follow-up visits before you fly are all listed on the written estimate.
Is bulbous nose rhinoplasty priced separately from bridge work?
Tip refinement and bridge augmentation are separate parts of the operation, so a figure for one doesn't cover the other. If you want both, ask for both in the same question.
Is revision rhinoplasty in Korea planned differently from a first operation?
Usually yes. Scar tissue and a septum that may already have been used can mean cartilage from the ear or rib and a longer operation. Include the year of your first surgery and what you know about it when you ask.
Can I combine rhinoplasty with eyelid surgery on one trip?
Some people do, but it means a longer time under anaesthesia and two recoveries happening at once. Send photos of both areas and ask whether combining them makes sense for you and how it changes the days to plan.
